According to Yonhap News,

North Jeolla Province (Jeonbuk) has become the host city of the 15th World Federation of Overseas Korean Trade Association (World OKTA) and Export Seminar.

The federation will attract Korean businessmen doing operation home and abroad and offer a venue where companies in Jeonbuk are provided with consulting services to advance into the overseas market and sign export contracts.

Jeonbuk expects the venue not only to enhance the brand value of products manufactu0red in Jeonbuk but to increase exports.

The World OKTA, founded in 1981, is a global economic and trade organization consisting of about 6,500 Korean businessmen doing operation in 61 countries.

Jeonbuk will facilitate the future-oriented added-value industry of exhibition and convention down the road after successfully completing the event.

"We will use the event as an opportunity to emphasize the potential of Saemangeum area emerging as Northeast Asia's economic hub," said Song Yang-gwon, a Jeonbuk official in charge of attracting international conferences.
