According to Yonhap News,

The first Jeonbuk Gender Festival was held in Jeonbuk Women's Employment Center to empower women workers.

The gender festival, co-hosted by Jeonbuk Female Educational and Cultural Center and Female Policy Institute of Jeonbuk Development Research Institute, attracted about 1,000 people from 18 institutions and organizations.

Various events, including female policy forum, discussion with participants, gender quiz contests and female health seminar, were held on the sidelines of the festival.

Governor Kim Wan-ju emphasized in a seminar that female workers should find the Blue Ocean rather than competing head-to-head in the Red Ocean to continue their career after childbirth or child rearing.

Kim Bo-geum, Director of Jeonbuk Female Educational and Cultural Center, said, "The festival was a great opportunity to enhance the social status of female workers by laying the groundwork for creating a society focusing on gender equality."
