According to Yonhap News,
Presidential Commission of Architecture Policy (PCAP) is scheduled to hold an urban architecture policy forum to promote the regional architectural culture in collaboration with North Jeolla Province (Jeonbuk).
The forum will attract 230 experts in urban architecture policy.
Commissioner of PCAP Lee Jeong-myeon and professor of Chonbuk National University Nam Hae-gyeong will make presentations about "Establishment of Integrated Standard System for Design, Construction and Material" and "Future Direction of Traditional Korean House Hanok," respectively.
Commissioner Lee plans to emphasize the importance of establishing an integrated system to improve the quality of buildings, shorten construction period and reduce risks.
Professor Nam will present the excellence of Hanok as our unique residential culture and its potential to develop into eco-friendly architecture and the necessity of establishing a public educational institution for Hanok to support the development of Hanok at national level.
