The Saemangeum Free Economic Zone (SGFEZ) authority invited foreign investors to organize a seminar during the Foreign Investment Week (FIW).

The seminar brought together 20 representatives of companies in the renewable energy sector from the U.S., China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Sweden.

The authority introduced South Chungcheong's investment environment and incentives.

It especially focused on promoting its stable supply of electricity at an affordable price, customized human resource cultivation program and labor environment, crucial factors for a company to decide to invest in a region.

Participants were impressed by Korea's renewable energy technology and investment environment during their visit to the SGFEZ pavilion, an observatory and Hyundai Heavy Industries' wind power plants.

SGFEZ is the only comprehensive bonded zone among Korea's six free economic zones, which enables companies in the zone to strengthen their export competitiveness.

If completed, Saemangeum seaport will emerge as Asia's major logistics hub along with Gunsan Port.
