Ikan to Be Granted Additional 4.1 Billion Won-National Budget for National Food Cluster

According to Yonhap News,

Iksan, north Jeolla Province (Jeonbuk) sees an increase of 4.1 billion won for its 2013 budgets allocated for the establishment of national food cluster from the initial allocation worth 9 billion by the central government.

The Ministry of Strategy and Finance decided to grant additional 4.1 billion won for the construction of national food cluster, scheduled for completion in 2015.

Then, 13.1 billion won will be injected next year into building the national food cluster on a 2.32 million square meter-site in Wanggung-myeon, Iksan City.

About 150 domestic and overseas food companies and 10 research institutes will be relocated to the complex to conduct joint-study and process and export products.

If completed, the cluster, where a total of 55 billion won will have been injected into, will generate sales of 15 trillion won and create 22,000 jobs, Jeonbuk expects.
