According to Yonhap News,

The Saemangeum Gunsan Free Economic Zone (SGFEZ) authority decided to modify its plan to divide Gogunsan Archipelago in Gunsan, north Jeolla Province into four districts for development from its previous plan to develop it as a large single district by attracting large-scale investment, due to sluggish economy in the construction and tourism sector.

Four districts include Sinsido Island No. 1, Sinsido Island No. 2, Munyeodo Island and Seonyudo Island.

Under the modified plan, a marine cultural experience center, a forest resort, a comprehensive marine resort and a luxurious marine resort facility will be built in Sinsido Island No. 1 and 2, Munyeodo Island and Seonyudo Island, respectively.

In addition, the SGFEZ authority decided to reduce the development area from 4.36 square kilometers to 4.03 square kilometers, taking residential areas and land usages for other purposes into consideration.

The authority submitted the revised plan to the central government.

Gogunsan archipelago consists of 60 islands including 16 inhabited ones, about 50 kilometers southwest of Gunsan City.
