According to Yonhap News,
Wonkwang University in Iksan City, north Jeolla Province inked a memorandum of understanding with 15 photonics-related institutions and universities in north and south Jeolla provinces (Honam) on establishing a network for cultivating human resources for the photonics convergence industry.
Wonkwang University will be responsible for cultivating photovoltaic professionals and putting them on the relevant positions through partnership with the 15 institutions and universities.
In addition, they agreed to conduct joint-research and operate internship programs tailored to the needs of companies.
The 15 institutions and universities include Gwangju Design Center, Gwangju Technopark and Honam division of Korea Electronics Technology Institute, Korea Photonics Technology Institute, Korea Association for Photonics Industry Development and Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and nine universities in Honam.
