According to Newsis,

The National Food Cluster Investment Promotion Committee, which consists of the Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MIFAFF), the Iksan City Government, and the Agency for Korean National Food Cluster, will participate in the “Foodex Japan 2013.”

The 38th Foodex Japan, the 3rd largest food exhibition in the world, will be held in Chiba, Japan from March 5 to 7. It is anticipated that 2,400 firms from 70 countries will take part in the event this year.

The committee will actively engage in promoting investment through intensive one-on-one meetings with decision makers and buyers of major overseas food companies.

The committee will also promote investment and business cooperation for the Korean National Food Cluster by directly visiting three Japanese food enterprises, i.e., Mitsubishi, the Incorporated Foundation Japanese Food Analysis Center, and UBM.

An official from the committee said, “We will make the Korean National Food Cluster successful by discovering and attracting major overseas companies highly interested in investing in the cluster.”

Meanwhile, a project to foster the Korean National Food Cluster means the construction of an R&D and export-oriented national food industrial complex in a 2,320,000㎡ land, which is composed of 160 food companies and research institutes, by 2015 with total investment of KRW 553.5 billion.
