The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) has approved a project to transform North Jeolla Province into a fermented food mecca in the eastern part of Korea.

The North Jeolla Provincial Government will receive KRW 6 billion from 2014 to 2018 to implement the project. It will establish a food supplement system, develop new products to boost competitiveness, and strive to secure a key position in the agricultural industry.
