Chonbuk National University’s School of Dentistry successfully attracted the 9th International Conference on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in Dentistry, a top global conference in the field of dental education.

PBL is a pedagogical method which combines academic knowledge, techniques and approach to develop students’ critical thinking and ability to cope.

Chonbuk University, one of the universities ranked the top in the state examinations, has introduced the method to all curriculums in 2005.

The 8th conference is expected to draw scholars and experts around the world, which will help to promote Chonbuk University’s education programs and its prestige.

Dean of the School of Dentistry Song Kwang-yeob noted that Chonbuk University is regarded highly in terms of its programs as it made a presentation on self-awareness of students who received PBL programs at the last conference in Sweden, adding that the school will endeavor to promote the university, region and Korea with careful preparations.
