MOU Signed with Chebizen and TTC

North Jeolla Province, Iksan city and the National Food Cluster signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chebizen for investment and World Institute of Kimchi and Total Technological Consultant Co., LTD (TTC) of Japan for cooperation.

Chebizen develops functional food materials based on biotechnology. With the MOU, it will collaborate to invest in the National Food Cluster and facilitate regional economy including job creation.

World Institute of Kimchi under the Korea Food Research Institute studies Kimchi, one of Korea’s representative food, and holds R&D projects for Kimchi globalization.

TTC will focus on clinical trials of foods and functional foods and develop evaluation system.

Lee San-jae, a National Food Cluster official, noted that the consistent investment promotion activities led to the MOU with research agencies and food companies, adding that the MOU will help strengthen the foundation for the cluster. He also said that the cluster will focus on attracting more investment from experienced companies and research agencies.
