Iksan city is moving fast to attract Korean companies returning to Korea.

Iksan city signed a memorandum of understanding for investment last Friday. Iksan mayor Lee Han-su, President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry Tianjin of China Lee Sang-hyun and others attended the signing ceremony.

President Lee was appointed by Mayor Lee as an investment promotion advisor for returning companies to collaborate for attracting 2,500 companies currently located in Hebei Province, China.

Mayor Lee noted that many electronic and precision equipment companies, who are most likely to come back, are concentrated in Tianjin, adding that the city will endeavor to attract them to Iksan by holding active promotion activities with the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry Tianjin.

They visited the industrial complex of 178,500 m2 which returned companies will move in.

Iksan has attracted one company this year by holding investment promotion activities to around 70 businesses, and now is focusing its efforts on about 10 companies which are showing positive signs. The city also plans to hold an overseas investment information session in July.
