Iksan city and the National Food Cluster support center announced that they visited the headquarters of Jalux in Tokyo and Festivalo in Kagoshima to discuss investment measures in depth.
After signing a memorandum of understanding with the cluster for investment, Jalux and Festivalo visited the cluster’s exhibition hall and the site to negotiate investment into the cluster and cooperation with Iksan farmers to grow agricultural products.
It was National Food Cluster’s third visit to Jalux headquarters following two visits in 2012 and March 2013. Jalux and the cluster exchanged views on stable supply of agricultural products including paprika and melons which Jalux is importing from Korea.
Iksan city expects that investment from Jalux will enable farmers to secure a market and Jalux to import agricultural products at a stable price consistently.
Representatives from Iksan city and the National Food Cluster also visited headquarters and plants of Festivalo, which is receiving much support from the Japanese government, to discuss cooperation with Korean companies and regional farmers.
An Iksan official who participated in the visit noted that the visit will lead to more active cooperation with not only companies which signed a MOU with Iksan and the cluster but also other Korea and foreign food companies and research agencies.
