The Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning announced today that the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and the Korea Neutron Beam User Association successfully attracted the next meeting of the International Conference on Neutron Scattering (ICNS) at the 2013 ICNS in Edinburg, England.
The ICNS is one of the largest international conferences in the field of neutron scattering, which analyze material structures with neutrons and study characteristics of new materials.
The ICNS 2017, which will be held in Daejeon July 2017, is expected to draw about 800 scientists from around 30 countries. Korea is the second country to hold the ICNS in Asia, following Japan.
Korea has 12 neutron scattering facilities, which use neutrons produced from the KAERI’s HANARO, a research reactor.
