N. Jeolla Sees USD 16.8 MN Exports

North Jeolla Province and North Jeolla branch of the Small & medium Business Corporation (SBC) held export consultations with foreign buyers. The consultations brought export contracts of USD 16.8 million, according to North Jeolla Province.

The event, which celebrated its fourth anniversary this year, invited 39 buyers from 16 countries.

About 20 Korean small- and medium-sized companies, which produce competitive and promising products, participated in the session and made export contracts of USD 16.8 million (KRW 19 billion).

ANK, located in Gimje, made an export contract of USD 1.19 million with and attracted an investment of USD 150 thousand from a Russian buyer for the first time. Rosepia also signed an export contract of USD 6.6 million with a Japanese buyer despite difficult export conditions, including a low yen.

Governor of North Jeolla Kim Wan-joo noted that although exports are dropping due to global economic uncertainties, small- and medium-sized companies will aid to facilitate exports, requesting consistent overseas marketing to build their competitiveness and contribution to regional economy.
