An additional agriculture industry complex, which will be built in Sunchang, is expected to facilitate the regional economy.
North Jeolla Province announced last week that it approved a plan to build the Poongsan second agriculture industrial complex with an investment of KRW 13.1 billion in a 170,000 m2 site.
The complex was designated as a new agriculture industrial complex by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in 2011 and administrative process was undertaken.
The province plans to complete construction of the complex by the end of next year.
North Jeolla Province promoted the second agriculture industrial complex to meet the demands from companies as all sites in the first complex was sold.
A textile plant of Korea C&T will be built in the second complex and a tile manufacturer plans to move in.
The second complex is expected to create about 250 new jobs and KRW 7.5 billion annual household incomes.
