Jeonbuk to Invest KRW 65.9 Bn to Foster Econ-Friendly Agriculture

(JEONJU = Newsis) The North Jeolla Province (Jeonbuk) will invest KRW 65.9 billion in 2014 in a bid to foster the environmental-friendly agriculture.
The province announced its plan to invest a total of KRW 65.9 billion in 23 business projects in four different fields on 11 December. The amount of investment was increased by 8.9 percent from 2012.
KRW 90 billion and KRW 19.2 billion will be invested to develop the metropolitan environmental-friendly agricultural complex and environmental-friendly agricultural complexes to lay the foundation for the production and distribution channel.
The city also plans to invest KRW 21.042 billion and KRW 14.158 billion in support of organic fertilizer and soil conditioner respectively in a bid to cut the production costs of the local businesses and farmers.
Other projects including environmental-friendly agriculture subsidy project will also be introduced to stabilize rural household incomes and support the marketing of the environmental-friendly agricultural products. uh0820@newsis.com
