Jeonju to Create Jobs in New Growth Engine Industries

(JEONJU = Newsis) Jeollabuk-do Jeonju seeks to push ahead provide support for localized job creation projects in the new growth engine industries.

The city announced on February 11 that it will invest a total of KRW 933 million by December to run six courses to foster 162 experts.

The industries include the carbon product, machinery, “roots”, IT and CT industries.

The city aims to foster 40 experts for the carbon and carbon-hybrid product industry, and 45 production workers for the lightweighted carbon auto parts industry.

For the machinery and other “roots” industries, the city will cultivate 20 experts in design and analysis fields.

Twenty smartphone application developers, 20 smartphone designers and 17 digital image compression technicians will be fostered for the IT and CT industries.

Last year, Jeonju conducted a localized job-seeking support project for the new growth engine industries, and 99 of participants successfully found jobs in the industries.

“We will do our best to not only create job opportunities for local residents, but also provide outstanding employees to the companies by fostering production workers for carbon-hybrid part manufacturers and IT&CT experts,” said a city official.
