7 Singaporean Companies Singed MOU to Move into Iksan Food Cluster

(IKSAN=Yon Hap News) The City of Iksan in North Jeolla Province announced on July 10 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with seven Singaporean companies for them to move into the Korea National Food Cluster.

The potential tenants include CHC Food Industries (beef jerky), Thong Siek Food Industry (fish products), Fong Yit Kaya (kaya), Chye Choon Group (noodles), Chee Seng Oil Factory (fat and oils), Hock Lian Huat Foodstuff Industry (traditional biscuits) and Tai Hua Food Industries (sauces).

The above Singaporean companies will build plants and R&D centers in the Korea National Food Cluster that will be completed in 2016 and export the produced goods to China and Japan.

The City expects 600 new jobs when the plants and centers are in operation.

“Our efforts to attract investment from global companies are paying off with tangible results. We will continue to attract more companies,” said Lee Sanjae, Director of Korea National Food Clsuter Promotion Group.
