(IKSAN=NEWSIS) SMK that produces functional drinks (President Kyong Jung Kim) signed an investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Iksan National Food Cluster on July 11 at InterContinental Seoul COEX.
The Korea National Food Cluster and SMK Group will cooperate to establish a plant and research center for functional drinks, improve business relationship between the two companies and seek more investment.
SMK Group will combine Korea’s fermentation technology into functional drinks made of wild rice, which is developed as SMK Group’s main product. They will build a research center for functional drinks and make the best use of our skilled manpower.
The products developed in Korea will be exported to the neighboring countries including China.
SMK Group runs the SMK Farm & Herbal Research Center to study functional agricultural and livestock goods in British Columbia, Canada. The company has signed an MOU with the University of the Fraser Valley for a joint research.
