Public Institutions Move to Jeonbuk Innovation City

(JEONJU=NEWSIS) According to North Jeolla Province on April 14, the Jeonbuk Innovation City is now home to nine public institutions including the Rural Development Administration and the National Pension Service, the Publication Industry Promotion Agency of Korea and the Korea Food Research Institute will relocate to the city within 2016.

The Jeonbuk Innovation City will become the Northeast Asia hub for agricultural life and a specialized financial city that can bring various synergy effects to the region.

The relocation of the twelve public institutions will create 28,000 new residents including employees of the institutions and their families revitalize the regional economy.

Also, the relocation will create 350,000 new jobs annually for the residents. "We will prepare a mid- to long-term development plans to seek ways for the relocated institutions and the region and co-exist," said a provincial official.
