According to Yonhap News,


Korea East-West Power signed an MOU on July 18 with Ulsan university, Korea Energy Agency, Ulsan Technopark, Unison, and Ulsan Floating Offshore Wind Farm Supply Chain Association in order to build a wind power value chain in Ulsan.

Korea East-West Power will carry out R&D to localize wind power technologies and proceed with follow-up tasks to successfully run through technology verification process and obtain certificates.

It also promised to cooperate with its Ulsan counterparts to build a reliable wind-power value chain in Ulsan city by working on commercializing R&D outcomes.

Kim Young-moon, CEO of the wind power generating company said "Players from the industry, academia and the research field decided to join hands in developing locally produced wind-turbine components and establish a reliable supply chain for the domestic market to boost the national self-sufficiency in wind power sector." and "We will make the most of our knowledge and expertise this company has cumulated to ensure Ulsan becomes a leading wind-power city across the nation."
