Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority

According to Yonhap News,

(Ulsan = Yonhap News) Reporter Heo Gwang-mu – The Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority (UFEZ) announced that it is visiting Nagoya, Japan, from the 17th to the 18th to promote investment attraction by introducing Ulsan's future industry infrastructure and investment environment.

UFEZ is participating in the 'Inside Japan 2026 Japan Mobility Investment Attraction Investor Relations (IR)' session and holding meetings with major local organizations.

This investment attraction initiative is pursued in connection with 'Automotive Engineering Exposition 2026 Nagoya,' a representative automotive and components exhibition in the central region of Japan. Hosted by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE), approximately 620 enterprises are participating in this exhibition.

At the IR session organized by the Japan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), UFEZ is intensively promoting core strategic industries—such as future mobility, secondary batteries, hydrogen, and floating offshore wind power—alongside manufacturing AI-based industrial transformation directions and investment support systems.

Furthermore, it is introducing new investment infrastructures, including the High-Tech Valley Phase 2 General Industrial Complex and the KTX Ulsan Station Complex Development Project. It is actively publicizing industrial locations and growth potential to encourage Japanese enterprises to consider Ulsan as a base for expanding into the Korean market and global supply chains.

During this visit, UFEZ is also reinforcing networks with organizations in the central region of Japan, visiting the Chubu Economic Federation and the Nagoya Port Authority to discuss measures for expanding exchanges and investment attraction directions.

Lee Kyeong-shik, Commissioner of UFEZ, stated, "The Chubu region of Japan is a world-class manufacturing hub with highly developed automotive industries, ports, and logistics infrastructure, sharing significant industrial commonalities with Ulsan." The official added, "Taking this IR session as an opportunity, we will actively publicize Ulsan's core strategic industries and the investment environment of the Ulsan Free Economic Zone."
