Daejeon City to Create 54,922 Jobs in 2016

(DAEJEON=NEWSIS) The city announced January 27 that it will invest KRW 346.6 billion in 9 sectors to create 54,922 jobs in 2016.

The city will create 2,341 jobs to establish industrial complexes and develop core industries, 440 jobs to grow the advanced technology-related industries, 1,855 jobs to nurture venture capitals, 4,300 jobs to attract small- and medium-sized companies, 474 jobs to recreate the EXPO science park and 24,000 jobs for the public sector.

"We will strive to achieve 66.3 percent of employment rate and record 788,000 workers in the city. In this regard, we will establish a regional employment innovation bureau, which will comprise experts in job creation, to supervise works related to creating jobs," said Daejeon City Mayor Kwon Sun-taik.
