Special R&D Zone Technology Expo Held in Daejeon

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, ad organized by the Innopolis Foundation, the 5th Special R&D Zone technology exposition 'Innopolis Tech Fair' was held on October 17 at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC).

The annual event is held to promote the accomplishments of the public technology commercialization projects at the 5 Special R&D Zones of Innopolis Daedeok, Innopolis Gwnagju, Innopolis Daegu, Innopolis Busan, and Innopolis Jeonbuk.

As of 2015, a total of 4,541 companies and organizations are located in the Special R&D Zones. For the past 10 years, the zones recorded a 17.2 time increase in sales and 6.3 time rise in number of tenant companies.

Some 180 technologies owned by 19 public research centers that show promise for commercialization were introduced at the event, and outstanding products of some 40 companies, including Maeum Golf, Jeyun Medical and Daegeon Tech were showcased.
