Daejeon City to Host 7th Asia Water Council Meeting

On May 27, Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise announced Daejeon will be hosting the 7th meeting for the Asia Water Council (AWC), the highest authority in the water sector in Asia.

According to Daejeon International Marketing Enterprise, Daejeon City was chosen to host the 7th AWC meeting at the 6th AWC meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand from May 24 to 26.

The 7th AWC meeting will be held for 2 days starting September 10 at the Daejeon Convention Center, and about 200 water-related policymakers and international organization personnel will participate.

AWC is the largest international council on water in Asia and the Oceania with more than 130 member organizations including government agencies, public organizations in the water sector, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UN Food and Agriculture Organization and UNESCO.

The board of directors will discuss water resource management technologies such as water resources management and smart water management in Asia, hydroelectric power generation, climate change response and public development assistance.
