This year's Science Festival will be held under the theme of "Metropolitan City of the Fourth Industrial Revolution! Daejeon to the Future and the Future to Daejeon," with 33 programs in four different areas.

Science experience events will be held in the exhibition at the Expo Plaza, and include an exhibition of 10 technologies of the fourth industrial revolution, experience of public organization, research institution and venture companies, exhibition of prize winners from an invention contest and international science exhibition.

Participants can enjoy culture and art events during the event days, including science concert, science magic show, performance by street artists, and DICU Festival.

Daejeon explained that it included more programs that involve citizen participation this year.

It also arranged a young chef festival in which 20 food trucks participate, jointly with the Agency for Traditional Market Administration.

"While maintaining the exhibition and experience programs of the Science Festival, we will strengthen the characteristics of international expo," said a city official. "We plan to foster the Festival as an international Science Festival by 2023, when Daedeok Research & Development Area marks its 50th anniversary."
