(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon Metropolitan City said on November 7 that it has dispatched a trade delegation to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, Russia and signed contracts worth USD 6.66 million.

Organized by Daejeon and hosted by the KOTRA Overseas Office in Russia, the Trade Delegation was attended by nine companies in Daejeon, including Samjin Precision and Dream T&S.

The city not only facilitated business matching between these companies and the buyers, but also helped companies to visit the offices of those buyers to have business meetings.

Daejeon explained that the local companies in Russia showed great interest in products manufacture by the companies in Daejeon.

The City provided financial support to the Delegation in terms of interpretation and flights.

"We expect to have great achievements from further market pioneer teams since excellent products from Daejeon have drawn attention from the Russian market," said Go Sang-il, Director of Enterprise Support Department of the City. "By implementing city policies supporting exports, we will make efforts so that business meeting will lead to actual exports."
