According to Yonhap News,
(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon city signed agreement with Korea Western Power on March 19 to build a clean fuel complex power compound in Pyeongchon Industrial Complex in Seo-gu.
In accordance with the agreement, Korea Western Power will invest KRW 1.778 trillion from July 2022 to December 2025 to build a 1,000 MW-clean gas power facility on the area of 140,000㎡ and 150 MW-hydrogen fuel cell power generation facility, and 2 MW photovoltaic generation facility.
The clean fuel complex power compound is planned to produce 5,612 GWh power per year.
It amounts to 58.2% of 9,648 GWh, an annual power usage of Daejeon area.
The city estimates that the construction will result in creation of 85,000 jobs per year, influx of 460 population, and an aggregate increase in tax income of KRW 65.8 billion during its 30-years operation, and city's balanced development through support projects in neighboring regions in the aggregate amount of KRW 32 billion during 30 years.
