500-seats e-Sports stadium will be built in Daejeon

According to Yonhap News,

(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) Daejeon city announced on March 25 that it secured national budget of KRW3billion, as it won "e-Sports stadium project" (offered by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Creative Content Promotion Agency) along with Busan and Gwangju.

The city plans to remodel the Advance Science Hall in EXPO Science Park to build a main stadium with 500 seats, and sub-stadium with 50 seats, waiting rooms for players, cafeteria, among others.

For ten years, KRW 37.6 billion will be invested.

Even when there is no competition, citizens visiting the stadium can have various things to do and enjoy through a Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) experience support center, to be established in connection with the stadium.

Meanwhile, Daejeon is scheduled to host the 11th President's Cup Amateur eSports National Final in August this year.
