Daejeon city announced on April 4 that it will implement "A Program to Support Promising SMEs to Go Global," in which the city select technologically competitive SMEs and startups and provide them with support in technology commercialization and local marketing.

The city is planned to put in KRW 1 billion in providing support by selecting enterprises with export competitiveness. 10 companies will be selected through online global capability education offered by the US Texas University, on-site inspection and consulting.

The selected companies will receive overseas marketing support and global market analysis from KAIST-Texas University, and an opportunity to tap into Central American as well as US markets.

Those who want to participate in this program are required to submit applications to KAIST technology commercialization center by April 12.

A city official said, "We will not spare any efforts in providing support to SMEs with technology capability so that they can grow into global hidden champions."
