(DAEJEON=Yonhap News) On July 7, Daejeon city announced that pre-construction of "Urban development project in Daedeok and Pyeongchon" to attract modling companies will commence next month at the earliest.

By investing KRW 20.5 billion by the first half of 2022, 103,679 square meters of the site for new industrial facilities and 14,656 square meters for support facilities will be provided.

Daejeon City Corporation made a notice of tender for pre-construction on July 3, and scheduled to appoint a constructor on August 8, conducting construction for 30 months.

By setting the minimum rate of joint venture at 49 percent with an aim to stimulate participation of local construction companies, the city expects to contribute to revitalizing construction economy in the region.

A city official said, "Once the project is completed, high-tech industries including electronics and precision manufacturing will be moving in, playing a vital role in job creation and balanced regional development."
