According to NEWSIS,

Daejeon Oct 25 -- Daejeon city government announced on Oct. 25 that it will launch the pilot service of Nuribut, an AI sign language chatbot in an effort to help hearing-impaired persons readily access information.

In preparation of the 2019-2021 Visit Daejeon Years, Daejeon had built a Q&A-type chatbot system that converts information about the region's festivals, main events and traffic conditions into sign language.

Users can access the Daejeon Metropolitan City's tour website, request for the region's tour information by typing in search words or phrases such as "places to visit in Daejeon" or "O-World" on the chatbot, and information including the introduction, location, contact number of tourist sites and popular restaurants will be displayed in 3D sign language images.

Daejeon City plans to provide tour information with the pilot service until late 2019, make necessary improvements and expand the service areas from January 2020. "The service will help improve the quality of life of hearing-impaired persons with limited access to information," said Mayor Her Tae-jeong of Daejeon.
