The city of Daejeon announced on Mar. 3 that the local authorities are fully gearing up for the municipal project, named “2020 city-community partnership for local job creation”, which consists of 17 separate tasks to be pushed on with city budget worth KRW 985.72 million. Along with 9 tasks aiming to directly give job opportunities to the seekers, 8 others are match making programs connecting the unemployed and businesses seeking for labor forces.

‘Househelper program’ which earned favorable feedback last year and seven other programs to help female workers especially those who can’t go back to work due to child bearing and caring or to give employment experience to the young adults out of labor market will be provided this year again, and ten new ideas will be added. A city official said “We’ll make a concerted effort with each community district to discover a sustainable model for job creation.”
