Daejeon startup hub to open to promote entrepreneurship
The city of Daejeon announced on May 4 that the local authorities remodeled an old government office building of South Chungcheong Province into a new city startup hub, to be open at the end of this month.
This startup hub will provide a comprehensive service from discovering an early stage business to helping pilot testing when products are ready to be marketed.
At the lobby and the second floor, entrepreneurs can embody their business idea and share their thoughts with experts to shape them up on the third floor. The fourth floor consists of 15 rooms for research and in-depth study.
Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) will form and run a makerspace, a collaborative work space inside a school, library or public/private facility for making, learning, exploring and sharing, for the first time in central district in Korea.
The official opening ceremony to celebrate the launch of the service takes place in June.
