According to Yonhap News,

Small business owners wrestling with the current COVID-19 led recession set out to explore and expand overseas sales networks online.

With the support of Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the city of Daejeon forms an online trade delegation, who’ll be in a support role helping 64 local SMEs break into 16 new markets in China, the US and Russia, said a city official on Sep 4. These delegates open a web-based trade fair or virtual meetings via KOTRA’s overseas offices. The events are scheduled to be held eight times till November this year.

For businesses unable to go abroad to work due to coronavirus lockdowns, KOTRA’s Shanghai office run a field sales, named “Shanghai Fashion Sales Promotion Event” instead. Hangzhou office will help have an approach to become a seller of e-commerce in China. The city government, reviewing KOTRA’s research data on consumption demand by each economy, selected marketable product categories worth being exported such as ICT devices (Japan), cosmetics (the CIS and Indonesia), foods (North Americas) and consumer goods (China, the EU, Vietnam and the Middle East)
