Daejeon city partners with DCCE to form Daejeon Startup Park

The city of Daejeon, Youseong-gu and Daejeon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (DCCEI) signed an MOU on Oct to form what’s called “Startup Park” near the city district.

The city takes the role of organizer and sponsor of the program, whereas Youseong-gu provides administrative and financial support. By forming the park with its couterparts, DCCEI will further promote entrepreneurship with local businesses.

At the startup park, a Silicon Valley like VC campus accommodating a startup and entrepreneurial ecosystem where entrepreneurs, investors and universities can share insights and have open access to resources.

Spending KRW 12.6 billion into the project by the end of 2022, the authorities will facilitate the campus on a public parking lot near Gung-dong. With a worth of KRW 60 billion VC funds, financed mainly by Shinhan bank, the signees are also planning to join forces to support locally based hidden champions.
