Local SMEs in Daejoen city sold KRW 1.5 bln worth of goods via global e-commerce platforms

The city of Daejeon said on Dec 8 that local SMEs have exported approximately KRW1.5 billion worth of goods via global e-commerce platforms such as US’ largest online marketplace, Amazon, and its rival Alibaba. The city government has provided biz-support programs, helping nearly 125 locally based small enterprises sell their products and services via seven world’s popular e-commerce platforms which include Amazon, e-bay, Taobao, Alibaba, Rakuten, Qten and Shoppee.

Daejeon city has pitched into the entire business cycle by each stage from website designing, translation, marketing, ordering and shipping services to payment to boost growth in sales.

32 local sellers who’ve successfully entered in e-bay reached KRW 970 million in sales. Export earnings of 57 SMEs were reported to total KRW 1.5 billion (KRW 310 million via Taobao, KRW 120 million via Rakuten and KRW 60 million from Alibaba and others).
