Local SMEs sales up KRW 6.3bln last year over Daejeon city’s biz-support policies

Starting from its services for online trade fair, a package of biz-support policies to help local SMEs gain access to a broader pool of potential buyers will be provided this year, Daejeon city said on Jan 12. By letting the local enterprises take part in the forthcoming events hosted by the city authorities - the 22nd World-OKTA Leaders Convention and the Business Plaza in April and the 19th World Korean Business Convention in October- under the sponsorship from Korean entrepreneurs abroad, Daejeon city is planning to pave the way to from business networks overseas for the locally based SMEs.

Running government procurement platforms where public bodies located in the city districts purchase locally produced goods and services, the authorities will push forward HR training for localization which gives greater opportunities for businesses in the community. There will be an MOU signing for the local purchasing agreement between the public-private entities within this month.

Those who’ve joined the city-led biz-support policies: trade fairs, exhibitions home and abroad, online shopping mall marketing projects are reported to reach nearly KRW 6.3 in sales on average.
