According to Newsis,

Daejeon-si was ranked 1st in the innovative growth capability measured by region.

Daejeon-si announced on August 10 that it was ranked 1st in the comprehensive index for innovative growth (2.5531) combining innovation-based capabilities (1.1693) and future industry-based capabilities (1.3838), recently published by the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade (KIET), measuring innovative growth capabilities of 17 cities and provinces nationwide.

It also top the both lists separately, innovation-based capabilities and future industry-based capabilities.

Daejeon was followed by Seoul (2.2690), Gyeonggi (1.7779), Incheon (1.6153), Gwangju(1.5134), Chungnam and Ulsan.
