Daejeon-si to introduce 100 hydrogen buses for five years

Daejeon City will introduce 100 eco-friendly hydrogen buses by 2025.

Daejeon-si said on November 8 that the first two hydrogen buses introduced started operating on the routes from Birae-dong to Galma Apartment (No. 613) and CJ Logistics to Jeongnim-dong (No. 615).

The city plans to introduce 10 additional buses gradually by the end of this month.

Daejeon-si plans to replace 20 old internal combustion engine-based buses with hydrogen buses every year, resulting in operation of a total of 100 hydrogen buses by 2025.

The number of hydrogen passenger cars currently in operation is 705, which will increase by 400 next year.

In line with the increase in hydrogen vehicles, the number of hydrogen refueling stations, which is currently 5, will be increased to 10 by 2025.

Introducing hydrogen buses, Daejeon-si also built a hydrogen refueling station inside the Shindae Bus Public Depot.

Two chargers can supply 60 kg of hydrogen per hour. In other words, 40 buses 240 passenger cars can be charged in a day.

The charging station is open daily from 4 a.m. to midnight, with no closing days.
