Daejeon-si announced on December 7 that it was selected for the 'K-Bio Health Regional Center Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

This project is to create a platform that supports business establishment and technology commercialization of bio companies by combining research space, facilities, and equipment of the region with the research resources and capabilities of hospitals. As its project was selected, the city will receive national funding of KRW 1.87 billion from next year to 2024.

Under the supervision of Daejeon Technopark, the city plans to build a cooperative infrastructure including support for clinical trials of companies, joint clinical research, and achievement sharing.

In addition, it will go ahead with customized support projects such as discovering start-up items, support for company occupancy services, specialized education, and PR support.
