The commercialization of technologies developed by government-funded research institutes and universities in Daedeok Innopolis will be pushed for in earnest.

Daejeon-si announced on May 3 that it had discovered 12 candidate projects for commercialization as part of the 'Daejeon-type new convergence project creation Innopolis technology demonstration leading project' and signed an MOU with related organizations.

31 research institutes and companies in the Innopolis submitted ideas for commercialization. After conducting evaluation, ideas from 12 organizations and companies were selected, including the Korea Institute of Energy Research, the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology, and Trento Systems.

Daejeon-si and related organizations plan to hammer out specific plans to demonstrate commercialization over the next three months.

Then they will push for commercialization in earnest with four final tasks, selected through the review by a committee consisted of experts in commercialization and start-up.

Daejeon-si plans to support the demonstration project by organizing a committee composed of experts in various fields such as evaluation of technology value, business model establishment, investment attraction, and design to make sure the research achievements of the Daedeok Innopolis settle in the local community.
