According to Yonhap News,
Daejeon-si revealed on Dec. 30 that it would additionally designate Yuseongsun Hospital as a regional emergency medical center from January 1, 2023, to establish a medical system that can provide treatment in an emergency.
The Yuseongsun Hospital is geared up for treating emergency patients in the southwestern part of Daejeon and Sejong.
As a result, the number of regional emergency medical centers in the city will increase to four, including Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital, Daejeon Sun Hospital, and Eulji University Hospital.
The city already has two regional emergency medical centers - Chungnam National University Hospital and Konyang University Hospital - designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Park Mun-yong, Director of Civil Sports and Health Bureau of Daejeon, said, "Our efforts have led to winning the first prize from the Health Ministry."
