According to Yonhap News,

Eminent geneticists will come to Daejeon in 2025.

According to the Daejeon Tourism Organization (DJTO), during the 39th International Society for Animal Genetics (ISAG) that was held in Cape Town, South Africa last week, Daejeon city was selected as the next hosting country.

Together with Korea Tourism Organization and the Korean Society of Animal Breeding & Genetics, the DJTO made efforts to win the bid for the ISAG 2025. Eventually their hard work paid off and Daejeon won by a majority, leaving other candidates, like Italy, China, and the US, behind.

Yoon Seong-guk, President of the DJTO said, "This will be the first global academic forum on animal genetics held in Korea, which will be attended by over 1,000 renowned experts from all over the world." He added, "I hope the hosting of ISAG 2025 will lead to an upgraded reputation of us in the global animal-genetics field."
