Daejeon-Sejong Regional SMEs and Startups Office held the second regular meeting of the "Daejeon and Sejong Global Unicorn Company Promotion Consultative Group" at the headquarters of Huvis Co., Ltd. in Daejeon on July 27.

The Consultative Group, formed in March, is composed of 13 regional innovative organizations with expertise in major policy areas such as technology, funds, and exports, and plays a role in discovering local preliminary unicorns and providing relevant customized support.

Innovation support organizations include Daejeon-Sejong Regional SMEs and Startups Office, Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, Korea Finance Corporation, Small Business Market Corporation, Techno Park, Creative Economy Innovation Center, Regional Credit Guarantee Foundation, Korea Federation of SMEs, and KOTRA.

At this meeting, they visited Huvis, a D-Unicorn company, to discuss government policy support measures such as corporate diagnosis, R&D, funds, guarantees, and technical support and listened to the difficulties it faces.

"Based on the consultative body's solution, we are working towards registration as the first unicorn company in the field of laser processing for domestic manufacturing processes," said Huvis's CEO, adding "we will be the leader in laser system industry through IPO.

An official from Daejeon-Sejong Regional SMEs and Startups Office said "We will provide every policy support as possible in cooperation with local governments to help companies possessing promising technologies to leap into a global unicorn company."
