On December 18, Daejeon-si announced that it has signed a basic agreement with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Daejeon City Corporation to successfully create a nano and semiconductor national industrial complex.
The basic agreement contains matters about mutual cooperation and conduct of work between local governments and project implementers required to build the national industrial complex.
Daejeon-si will provide administrative support including attracting tenant companies, resolving civil complaints and infrastructure, and LH and Daejeon City Corporation will carry out administrative procedures such as preliminary feasibility studies and approval of industrial complex plans, necessary for the creation of industrial complexes.
Daejeon-si has set a goal of designating the nano and semiconductor national industrial complex as the second Daedeok Innopolis and turning it into a production base that commercializes the results of regional research.
The city plans to apply for a preliminary feasibility study of the national industrial complex in the first half of next year and complete its construction by 2030.
