TPOSCO DX Co. has recently completed a construction project to build an automation system at a logistic facility operated by Hanjin Transportation Co.

Hanjin Mega Hub Logistics Center at Daejeon, south of Seoul, is one of the largest logistics facilities in South Korea. The four-story facility spans 148,230 square meters and is equivalent to 21 football pitches, can handle as many as 120,000 parcels an hour.

POSCO DX deployed its exclusive image recognition technology into the system to automate the sorting process across 80 lines. The introduction of the so-called AI 3 sorting system enables automatic identification of irregularly shaped parcels by categorizing them into small, medium, and large sizes before the sorting process.
