Daejeon-si will prepare and push ahead with "2048 Grand Plan" containing 10 key tasks to leap forward as the great city in 2048.

According to the Daejeon Metropolitan Government on March 11, the "2048 Grand Plan," which reflects Daejeon's identity and the future of Daejeon that citizens want, is made up of five strategies and 10 key tasks with the goal of "a creative convergence city that connects people, culture, science and economy."

The five strategies are: a national innovation hub city leading the future industry; a hyper-connected transportation city that connects people and cities, an environmental and welfare city that takes responsibility for the earth and society; an open and creative city where diversity acts as competitiveness, and; a balanced development city.

10 key tasks that will serve as Daejeon's future new growth engines include: the creation of a new growth industry convergence valley in Chungcheong Province; the realization of the world's top hyper-connected megacity through the establishment of a trans-regional transportation network; the creation of a new growth hub city in the northeastern Daejeon; and the development of an underground three-dimensional complex at Daejeon Station.

The city plans to make Daejeon a super city in all aspects including economy, science, culture, environment, and transportation by focusing the city's resources and capabilities on the 10 key tasks.

This grand plan factored in opinions from all walks of life, including citizens, youth, experts, and autonomous districts, including the Daejeon Sejong Research Institute and Seoul National University's Institute for Social Development and Policy Research.
