According to Yonhap News,
On June 19, Daejeon-si announced that it signed an MOU with QUANDELA, a global quantum computing company, and KAIST to push for joint cooperative projects for the development of quantum science and creation of Daedeok Quantum Platform.
The MOU has been prepared to foster Daejeon as a hub for a global quantum industry ecosystem.
France-based Quandela is a global leader in photonic quantum computing and is exploring the possibility of entering the Asian market.
The company plans to be incorporated, foster professional experts in the quantum computing industry, seek the ways to apply the quantum computing to industries, and establish partnership with local foundry in Korea.
The city plans to support the company so that it could establish an organic cooperative system with local research institutes, companies, and universities including KAIST, and stably conduct its business in Korea.
An official from Daejeon-si said, "if the technological and industrialization capabilities of Quandela are combined with superb talent at KAIST, it will give an opportunity to produce technological innovation in the local quantum sector and lay the foundation for Daejon to grow into a leading city in the global quantum field."
